I do keep very busy creating community online and live. Over the past few years I've groomed an ever increasing circle of involvement with Detroit's fashion scene. My projects include:
- Abandoned In Detroit - a fashion showcase project with 20 group photoshoots. [link]
- 313FAD.com - an online fashion community holding monthly live networking events. [link]
- urban LUSTer - at this time is barely birthed and is aimed to provide urban art and fetish fashion market. This will open up a number of special projects.
The number of fashion shows I've photographed has been rising steadily and I'm shooting 1-4 shows a month at this point. I am shooting fewer nightlife events. My photo hosting site [link] contains the evidence of how busy I've been keeping.
BLOGGING / JOURNALING
Recently I ported content from several blogs (Livejournal, Blogger, Wordpress) and have consolidated those at "Wordpress-ed Fuzzytek" [link] Since it is fairly new I'm working on which widgets to use and coming up with a standard blogging format. I'll be hacking around with the Smugmug API to deliver content from the photo site cleanly. Slideshows are the first measure of success in this area. Several of my recent blog posts include slideshows linked from and to galleries on the hosting site.
These days micro-blogging through Twitter [link] has become very popular. As a content producer and social networking consultant I sit at the cross-roads of creator and advocate.
Thanks for reading! Hope to see you around Detroit soon. Remember 313FAD holds monthly networking events.
Stephen
